Since it was first discovered in Allentown, PA in 1998 the Brown Marmorated Stinkbug has made its presence known in orchards, gardens, on landscape trees and shrubs, and even inside the homes of Essex Fells residences. The Brown Marmorated Stinkbug feeds on a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, and plant leaves, including several species of landscape trees and shrubs. It appears this insect has no natural enemies in the United States and each insect can live up to three years.

Unfortunately, its preferred overwintering location is inside your home. The Brown Marmorated Stinkbug is mostly brown in color, but also has alternating black and white edging on its shield-shaped back.
